Nancy Jones plans memorial for anniversary of George Jones' death


It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since country music lost one of its greatest and most legendary voices—George Jones. And while his passing was marked with an all-star tribute concert last November with Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Eric Church, Charlie Daniels and more, George’s widow, Nancy, has something more intimate planned to mark the one-year anniversary of his passing.

Jesse Winchester, a popular singer and prolific songwriter, died at his home in Charlottesville, Va., Friday morning (April 11), at age 69 following a battle with cancer. His music blended folk, country and blues and he found his greatest success as an artist in the folk music genre.

New music coming from Lee Ann Womack this year


Lee Ann Womack has signed a recording contract with Sugar Hill Records and Welk Music Group, with a new album ready to release in September 2014. The news was revealed by Hollywood Reporter April 9. Previously, Lee Ann was signed with MCA Nashville but parted ways with the imprint in 2012.
