According to the defense Lee Purser has suffered from several mental disorders most notably, paranoid schizophrenia. There were 2 experts retained by the case, one by the defense, and one by the state, and both came to the same opinion, that he did not know the difference between right and wrong during the time of the offense. There will be a hearing next month to determine whether or not he presents a current threat.

This started when a handcuffed woman who’d allegedly been raped then kidnapped was able to escape Stevens’ vehicle while he was buying beer at a Boswell, Oklahoma convenience store.
