TV's 'Archer' debuts character's new country career with full album

If FX’s animated spy-jinks series Archer had a secret code name this season, it’d be Double-O Outrageous. Especially with the revelation that fan favorite Cheryl has changed her name to Cherlene in order to launch—you guessed it—a country music career.

The character is voiced by Judy Greer (Arrested Development), with Cherlene’s singing voicesupplied by upstart Jessy Lynn Martens. On last night's episode, Cherlene shows off her country leanings by dueting with Kenny Loggins on a twang-heavy version of his Top Gun hit “Danger Zone.” (listen to it below) It’s a guilty pleasure to the nth degree.

 In support,
today the series digitally released a full country album by Cherlene. And, surprise, it’s awfully fun, not to mention a little bawdy. Along with “Danger Zone” and a rip-roaring cover of Jerry Reed’s Smokey and the Bandit theme, “Eastbound and Down,” Cherlene’s self-titled album features the rollicking “Midnight Blues,” which you can stream exclusively on Country Weekly's website.
