Over the weekend Carrie Underwood made a surprise visit during the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals (OAA) Fur Ball benefit. The non profit helps raise funds and awareness for the humane treatment of animals.
“It was excellent. I can’t say it could have gone any better,” OAA president Jamee Suarez says, revealing that OAA had to keep Underwood’s attendance under wraps before the event. “There’s no place big enough . . . for everybody had they known she would be coming.” “We had over 350 people, more than 100 more than we normally have,” he added.
During the event Carrie posed for pics with guests and even sang “Happy Birthday” to Suarez. “It was the best birthday present I’ve ever had,” he told Tulsa World.
Carrie didn’t show up to the Full Ball alone. Her date for the evening was a golden retriever named “Platty” who received the Second Chance Award at the event, while Carrie’s hometown Checotah (Happy Paws) Animal Shelter received one of the Making a Difference awards and was given a $1,000 grant from the OAA.
